An Investigation On The Exponential Power Operation Ability And Logarithmic Operation Ability Of Students In Hunan Senior High School

Mathematical operations as one of the six core mathematical literacy.It can be seen that mathematical operation ability is an important part of mathematics education.But the middle school teachers agree that the students' operation ability is declining.In this study,201 senior high school students of a key middle school in Hunan province were selected as the subjects.On the basis of Lin Chongde's theory about the level of operation ability and the theory of SOLO level classification,The mathematical operation ability is divided into two dimensions(exponential power operation and logarithmic arithmetic).This paper gives a framework for the classification of their levels and the corresponding testing tools.Using the software EXCLE and SPSS20.0 to analyze the data of the test volume.To answer the following questions:What is the current situation of the students' ability level in these two dimensions?is there a correlation between the two dimensions?What is the current situation of the mathematics ability of the high school students?Are there differences between men and women?The following conclusions are drawn:The number of students on the dimension one is mainly concentrated in 1 and 2 level.The number of students in the dimension two is mainly concentrated in the level of 2.it's generally a normal distribution.There is a strong correlation between the two dimensions.The mathematics ability of the senior high school students is mainly in the level 1 and level 2.There is a significant gender difference in mathematical operation ability of high school,but there is no significant gender difference in accuracy and operational speed.Based on the above conclusions,we give the Enlightenment of two points:One is about the teaching of index and logarithm,the other is about the cultivation of mathematical operation ability.
