Teachers' verbal feedback refers to the response to children's behaviors,languages,abilities and other performances,which is an important part of teacher-child interaction.Studies have shown that the higher the quality of teachers'verbal feedback is,the more instructional support children can obtain,thus effectively promoting the development of the language and cognition.Therefore,the quality of teachers' verbal feedback can be the key to deciding whether students can obtain the higher education support or not.At present,there are many questions about the verbal feedback of pre-school teachers according to previous studies.The researches on the high-quality verbal feedback are insufficient.Hence,the researcher took the case study,selected fifteen records of demonstration lessons taught by some high-level teacher and used the CLAN coding and CLASS to describe the characteristics of the high-level teacher's verbal feedback,exploring the role of the high-level teacher's verbal feedback in instructional support.The study showed that high-level teacher's verbal feedback is carried out around the tasks.The teacher used the feedback strategies such as new information provision,specific affirmation,repetition and questioning frequently and often combined the repetition and the understanding confirmation,the specific affirmation and the new information provision or correction;the high-level teacher often used verbal forms of expressions including QN(special questions),ST(statement of opinions)and GR(statement of reasons).The score results by using the CLASS system in educational support areas showed that,the high-level teacher's verbal feedback reflected a level of education support above the average.The score of the language modeling was the highest,followed by the feedback quality and the score of the concept development was slightly lower.The results showed that the high-level teacher's verbal feedback has the characteristics including task,extension and continuity,with emotional support and educational support.It still has space for improvement.Finally,combined with the analysis above,the researcher put forward the suggestions to improve the quality of teachers' verbal speech feedback.
