A Research On Family Value?Family Structure And Satisfaction With Family Life

Satisfaction with life(SWL),a complex variable,is the subjective aspect of social indicators,and it is an important dimension to measure the quality of life.Satisfaction with family life(SWF)is the most important aspect of SWL,is affected by many subjective or objective factors,for example personal factors and their family life.Family structure is the explicit form of family,change of family structure is an external feature of family change.Besides,feamily value directly affects the family structure's change.In the procession of modernization,family strcture and famly values have important influence on SWF.Chinese traditional family value is also affected deeply,and the family structure presents a diversified trend.It is of great practical significance to study the relationship between family structure,family values and SWF.In this study,"China Family Panel Studies of 2014"(CFPS2014)will be used to descript and analyze the relation between family structure and family value,their effects on SWF.By establishing the regression model,there is the following four conclusions:Firstly,although Chinese family value and family structure is both diverse,but the family value is still more traditional,and Chinese ideal family structure is still the main family.So this situation will break a theoretical hypothesis-"convergence theory" of family.Choice of family structure isn't consistent with the willingness to live with parents.The family value of stem families are more consistent with their choice of family structure,and in conjugal families and the nuclear families,the situation is not so idealSecondly;family structure and value have significant impact on SWF.People in solitary families' SWF is significantly lower than people living in stem famailies'.While people in conjugal and nuclear families' SWF may be higher than people in stem families'.Thirdly,there is interaction effects between family structure's and personal family value's effects on SWF.In conjugal and nuclear families family value has a greater impact on SWF,that is to say,the more traditional family value is,and the lower SWF is.In conjugal and nuclear families,the inconsistency between family value and choice of family structure has a significant impact on their SWF.Fourthly,there are many factors affect SWF,such as age,household registration,marital status,work,area which they are living in,physical condition,income level,economic contribution,family social status,family values,and interpersonal 'relationship.In addition,we find that education have no significant impact on SWF.
