Work and family are the two main domains of modern individuals. These tow domains are not separate from each other, on the contrary, there exists overlap and interaction of domains. The interactions is including positive and negative from both work to family and family to work. Work-family interface contains work-family conflict and work-family enrichment of both directions. There are different latent components according to the scores of these 4 dimensions which show different impact to employees work and family related satisfaction. This pattern exists not only in the personal level but also in the interpersonal level through the process of interaction.The Conservation of Resources theory and The Spillover-Crossover theory are the two integrative theories to explain the mechanism of the interaction of work and family. The COR explains the interaction and its influence from the perspective of the resource loss and gain of coping process. The SCM extends the interaction to the interpersonal level of dyad perspective. Recently, however, the researchers begin to focus the social value and belief in the topic of work-family interaction. In the culture context of Confucian and Familism, the belief of Chinese employees to treat work and family as an integrative system which place work in the dominant place and family in the basic level.The present research combine these approaches to discuss the pattern of employees' work-family interface and explore different impact to the individual's work and family satisfaction and quality of family life of various pattern of work-family interaction which tries to integrate and proceed the current theories of work-family interaction and make some discussion of the dilemma that employees faced in the current situation. The research contains 5 studies including 1 pre-study. Study3 contains 2 parts.In studyl, the person-centered design and the Latent Profile Analysis method was adopted to explore the latent classifications of 1486 Chinese employees' work-family interaction according to the scores of 4 dimensions of WFC,FWC,WFE,FWE. Two latent types of work-family interaction were found in this study. Single factor repeated measure analysis of variance was used to compare the difference of WFC, FWC, WFE, FWE. The results showed that in the positive group, the employees reported more benefit of work and family and low conflict of both direction, on the other hand, the other group showed imbalance of work to family and benefit of family to work, names contradictory type. Meanwhile, in the positive group, female took majority and had more family support, however, in the contradictory group, the major proportion is male and have less family support.Study2 mainly discuss the topic of the effect and mechanism of work-family interaction in individual level.150 employees who belongs to contradictory type took part in the study of 2 waves measurement of 4 months interval. The result showed that time1 WFC would predict the significance decrease of family satisfaction instead of job satisfaction in time2, time1 FWC would predict decrease of both job satisfaction and family satisfaction in time2, FWE in time1 would predict increase of only job satisfaction in time2 and WFE showed positive correlation with both job satisfaction and family satisfaction in time2. What is more, family support is the significant mediator of work-family interaction to family satisfaction.Study3 included 2 parts to discuss whether work-family interaction led to the fluctuation of their marital satisfaction and protective factor of their work-family balance in dyad perspective which also put focus on the contradictory type. In part1 of study3,292 dual earner couples attend the research. SCM were used to analysis WFC and WFE and marital satisfaction of husbands and wives at the same time, and found that both husbands and wives' WFC led to decrease of marital satisfaction and WFE led increase of marital satisfaction. The crossover effect of marital satisfaction of the couples was also found which showed the husbands were sensitive of wives marital satisfaction than vice vasa. Besides, the mediation of family support was also found in the dyad analysis.The part2 of the study explore the protective role of couple's perspective taking in work-family interaction which would result more positive interaction and less negative interaction. APIM was adopted to analysis the actor effect and partner effect of husband and wife. The results showed that the highly interdependence of husband's and wife's perspective taking which means it was proper to dyad analysis. The actor effects of husbands and wife were significant and partner effects only existed in the work-family conflict. In the similarity of perspective taking analysis, the results showed that the high similarity of perspective taking of the couples will decrease work-family conflict and increase family-work enrichment. Gender was also a significant factor in the analysis, the husband's perspective taking would have more influence to wife.Study4 paid attention to the parents'work-family interaction to the adolescents'family intimacy and internet addiction.292 parents and adolescents attended the study. The path analysis found that only father's WFC and WFE would impact the adolescent's family intimacy but the mother's. The family intimacy of adolescents were negative to internet addiction of adolescents and mediated the father's WFC and WFE to the internet addiction.The main finding of this research is identifying the contradictory work-family interaction type and exploring the role of family resources in the work-family balance process.
