Mechanism Construction Of The Parents Committee Participation In School Governance

Under the background of the current education governance and school reform,as part of an important part of school governance,the parents committee has become an important force that cannot be ignored and get more and more recognition and support.So it is necessary for us to construct a complete participation mechanism to make it possible to encourage the parents committee to play a more important role in school governance.The paper combs domestic and foreign literature related with school governance and parents participation,reviews the development process of the parents committee in our country and makes a clear definition of the core concepts.Then on the basis of several theoretical foundations,the participation mechanism is divided into Dynamic Mechanism,Coordination Mechanism and Guarantee Mechanism.The author summarizes the current situations of participation mechanism of the parents committee by questionnaire,in-depth interview and test analysis in A primary school of X district,Shanghai.From the survey,we find that there are some insufficiency in three mechanism such as participation motivation in the aspect of dynamic mechanism,coordination mechanism has not yet been fully established,lack of specification in safeguard mechanism,and these factors affect the participation in school governance.Based on the current participation mechanism of the parents committee,the author analyzes the reasons for the imperfect participation mechanism from three aspects including the concept of understanding,the process of governance and the external conditions.Finally the author puts forward some suggestions for improving participation mechanism of the parents committee such as self-realization of the different participants,improving and standardizing the participation procedures as well as some external conditions.
