The Effection Of The University Strength On Cooperative Relaotionship Strength Of University-Industry Cooperation

In the knowledge economy times,university-industry cooperation,in which,universities are linked closely to enterprises,has become an important driving force to promote local economic development with the principle of resource organization.The more intimate the relations among the cooperative bodies are,the more likely the knowledge and information between universities and businesses transferred effectively,thereby improving the cooperation quality and its effectiveness.What these universities,serving as knowledge providers in this collaboration system,should do to be well integrated into the production and research trend has been a widespread concern in academic circles.In this context,it is of significant sense figuring out whether there exist impact the universities have on the research partnership.In this study,we put forward a new definition of the strength of the universities according to what is described in the triple helix theory that"abilities the universities should have to promote research cooperation and stimulate regional innovation".Specifically,our paper evaluate universities from three aspects of knowledge production capacity,knowledge dissemination ability as well as knowledge conversion capability,and verify the significant positive impact the university strength have on university-industry cooperation network relationship with determined methods for strength measurement.Here,we selected technological universities under '985' and '211'program as research samples and collected relative data in three years during 2012 and 2014.With social network analysis methods for research on cooperative network characteristics of the university cooperation patent,we draw the following conclusions using principal component analysis in SPSS as well as short panel regression empirical analysis in Stata software that universities'knowledge production capacity,knowledge dissemination and knowledge transfer capacity play significant and positive impact on relationship strength of cooperation network;the cooperation network as is becoming increasingly large when the sub-network scale appearing gradually.According to the conclusions above,corresponding and practical suggestions should be put forward to strength cooperation relationship as well as promote cooperation ability,which are,firstly,universities should enhance their knowledge transfer capability to successfully realize effective commercialization of research findings;secondly,current university evaluation system should change its way by adding knowledge conversion capability into the university's performance examination;thirdly,those '985'and '211' universities are asked to take the lead role model in cooperation progressing;fourthly,the government should act as a bridge in cooperation research to promote regional innovation.
