The senior students are at the critical phase of cognitive development,self-development and character shaping.It is important for the students to train the ability of autonomous learning.The English curriculum standard comes up with the general aim that to train students' comprehensive ability to use language.The training of learning strategiesguarantees the improvement of learning efficiency and autonomous learning as well.Learning strategies are divided into management strategy and language learning strategy.If the teacher can cultivate students on management strategy in the process of English learning,it can help them to form the ability of autonomous learning management.At present,the theses which research autonomous management on English learning for senior high students are rare.The paper is based on the English Curriculum standard,the theory of autonomous learning and the management strategy of English learning,this paper discusses how students can learn and use management strategy in the process of English learning to improve their the ability of autonomous learning.At first,the paper describes autonomous learning researches at home and abroad.Meanwhile,it expounds the relation between the management strategy of English learning and senior students' autonomous learning management.Then,the author surveyed and interviewed the current status and problems about senior students'autonomous learning.The author analyses their problems with the management strategy of English learning,and found that the students have troubles with planing,implementing,monitoring,evaluation,motivation and resource utilization.Finally,according to the problems,combined with results of interview,the author presents the strategies which can improve the students' management ability of autonomous learning and includes five main aspects:working out the plan reasonably,adjusting the learning method,evaluating and rethinking,enhancing the learning motivation and using the resource.Overall,it can help the students to form the autonomous learning ability to use the management strategy reasonably.It can not only improve the students' learning efficiency,but also lay the foundations of their lifelong learning.
