A Study Of Experiential English Teaching In Senior High School English Classroom

Under the guidance of the curriculum standards,high school English classroom teaching has been correspondingly reforming and innovating,which aims to stimulate students' learning interest.The purpose of experiential English language teaching is to induce learning enthusiasm of students through situation creation,participation in classroom activities,exchanges and cooperation and independent practice,which helps students develop and cultivate comprehensive ability.In this study,the research was conducted with 67 students in two parallel classes in Shouguang Xiandai High School within one teaching semester.In the research,the author used both quantitative and qualitative data analysis methods to analyze the data collected from the test,questionnaire,interview,and classroom observation.The data collected in this study was reliable and valid.This research showed that classroom atmosphere in the experimental class was more active than the control class.Students in the experimental class changed their attitude towards English learning.Therefore,the experiential English teaching method aroused student's interests and developed students' enthusiasm in English teaching.As a result,students grades in the experimental class are improved.This study may make contributions to the advanced English teaching method.The findings from this research show that it is better to use the experiential English teaching class mode than the traditional teaching class mode in senior high school.Experiential English teaching can improve the learning achievement,stimulate and enhance students' English learning interest and positive cooperation and exchange awareness.
