| Nowadays,English learning has been increasingly emphasized by the society and schools around the world.The Chinese government attaches great importance to the education and teaching of English which starts from primary school students,and regards it as an important part in the senior high school entrance examination,college entrance examination and university courses.Because of the impact of rural education and the limitation of teaching facilities,families,teachers and other factors,the teaching of English in Junior high school in the rural area has been still faced with great difficulties currently.Students’ interest in English learning and their learning ability need to be improved.Besides,English reading ability plays an important part in improving students’ overall English performance.The author applied the Stratified teaching method to the experimental class.Compared to the results of the control class,the hierarchical teaching of reading in the teaching of English can improve the students’ interest in English learning and help to improve students’ English learning ability.This paper mainly uses the theory of individualized teaching,the theory of Zone of Proximal Development and the theory of constructivism to guide the stratified teaching practice in junior high school.The following results are obtained based on the results of the practice: Stratified teaching of reading can effectively motivates students’ learning enthusiasm,improve their reading ability and learning ability.Besides,it also promotes the communication between students and teachers,and promotes the spirit of cooperation and mutual help.The first chapter of this paper mainly introduces the research background,the purpose,the significance and the structure of the paper.The second chapter introduces the current status and trends of the hierarchical teaching at home and abroad,the purpose of hierarchical teaching,the relevant theory of hierarchical teaching and the definition and practice of reading.And the third chapter introduces the questions,the object,the purpose of the study,the tool and process of the research.The author studies the students’ scores—the scores of English reading comprehension as well as the total scores—by testing,questionnaire survey and individual talk,and analyzes the students’ grades with the usage of SPSS and Excel.The purpose of using SPSS and Excel is to evaluate the efficiency and importance of stratified teaching in the teaching of reading in junior high school.The fourth chapter introduces the concrete application of stratified teaching in English reading teaching in junior high school and the study and analysis of the comparison between the results of teaching before and after using the method of Stratified teaching.In the fifth chapter,the author draws a conclusion about the study,indicating how the results of the teaching practice brings light to further teaching of English reading,and points out the limitations of this study. |
