With the development of technology and society,there is an increasing need for quality education.However,distribution of quality education resources in China is not balanced,especially in western China.The High School Distance Live Broadcast Teaching emerged at the historic moment,and was soon adopted on a large scale in remote areas in western China.Some researchers have conducted studies in this field,while studies on the English teaching are rarely involved.As the school where the author works has adopted this teaching mode since 2012,the research on this topic caused the author's great interest.In this paper,the author concentrates on the following questions: 1.What are the views of English teachers and students on the far end in Guangyuan Experimental High School after adopting the High School Distance Live Broadcast English Teaching mode? 2.What are the advantages and disadvantages of the High School Distance Live Broadcast English Teaching mode in Guangyuan Experimental High School? During the period of the author's research,5 English teachers adopting this mode as well as 150 students chosen randomly from the 5 online classes are the participants.Various instruments such as class observation,questionnaires and interviews are used to collect data in the study.The author analyzed her raw data with SPSS.In this paper,the author introduces the definition and characteristics of distance education;she also lists some related theories.Meanwhile,the author introduces the running mode and characters of the High School Distance Live Broadcast English Teaching.Through research,the author finds out that most of the related teachers and students hold positive views on this teaching mode.They hold the view that this teaching mode has some positive effects on their English teaching.The most abvious advantage of this mode is that it can make up the uneven distribution of educational resources to a certain extent.So rural areas can also enjoy quality educational resources,meanwhile,teachers and students' overall competence gets improved.However,this mode has some disadvantages.For example,in this kind of teaching mode,it is difficult for host teachers to take students' individual differences into account when they design their teaching,there is little interaction between host teachers and students on the far end in the classroom,teachers on the far end do not have the initiative to control the classroom and so forth.Though there are advantages and disadvantages at the same time,this teaching mode does have obvious advantages over traditional teaching mode.At the last part of the paper,the author puts forward some personal suggestions.For example,schools on the far end should take their students' ability into account while setting up their online classes,teachers on the far end should study the teaching design of host teachers in advance and make use of teaching resources reasonably according to their own students and so forth.with the purpose of providing some help for related teachers and students on the far end to maximize the benefit of this mode.
