| The unbalanced development of education in different areas is a long-standing livelihood problem in China.With the development of Internet technology and the accumulation of high quality educational resources,technical support and practical foundation are provided for the balanced development of education.Remote live teaching is an effective way to reallocate high quality teaching resources in the whole country.In recent years,the remote live teaching has been paid more and more attention and supported by the government,the academic circle and the industry.At present,many scholars had discussed the teaching mode and teaching effect from the perspective of pedagogy.From the perspective of communication research,teaching activity was in essence a special communication activity of human beings,and the research on teaching effect was in essence a research on the communication effect of the communication activity.Since the remote teachers were not only another core audience of the teaching mode,but also an important feedback channel between teachers and students at remote classes,the role of the remote teachers in the teaching process would have an indirect but important impact on the communication effect.This paper not only took the remote students but also the remove teachers as the research object of communication effect,using the Use and gratifications and the Digital divide theory to research the communication effect of the teaching mode through investigating the remote teachers and students’ media use needs and media access and use.The author personally participated in the remote live teaching activities of Luquan No.1Middle school,taking participatory observation and depth interview as research methods,and tried to figure out three research questions as follow.Firstly,in remove live teaching,what were the media use needs of remote teachers and students? Were the needs being met?Secondly,was there a digital divide in the remote classroom? If so,what were the influencing factors? Thirdly,what communication effect had the remote live teaching brought in the remote class?The research results showed that remove live teaching brought both positive and negative effects.The teaching mode met remote students’ demands for high quality teaching resources.It promoted the personal integration of remote students,improved the teachinglevel of the remote teachers and laid a realistic foundation for the overall improvement of the remote education level.However,the teaching mode had intensified the knowledge gap between the two classes,appeared that "the old gap is not even,but the new gap is emerging".It also caused the knowledge gap generated between the students at the remote class,polarized the performance of remote students.Moreover,due to the lack of feedback channels,the remote students’ sense of classroom participation is reduced,so that the remote students’ demands for learning are not effectively responded to,and the occupational burden of the remote teachers is increased,which was not conducive to the career development of the remote teachers and laid a hidden danger for the long-term development of distance education. |
