Research Based On The Application Of GeoGebra In High School Analytic Geometry Teaching

Analytic geometry has accounted for a large percentage of the total score of mathematics in the College Entrance Examination over the past years.However,many students have difficulty in understanding the concepts of geometry and exploring the conclusions,which leads to boring classroom atmosphere,students' lack of initiative for learning and low teaching efficiency.This thesis deals with the application of GeoGebra,a powerful dynamic geometry software,in analytic geometry teaching and learning,and tries to improve the above situation.Through the literature review and my own teaching experience,I have found some unsatisfactory situations in analytic geometry teaching.With the help of GeoGebra,I have made some teaching designs related to “straight line and circle”,“conic sections”,which are two main chapters in analytic geometry.I have also made an analysis based on my real teaching process.Then,I have provided some cases,in which students operate the software by themselves.Through the analysis of these cases,I have found some advantages of using GeoGebra in analytic geometry teaching,but I also have noticed some problems as well.The conclusions of this thesis are as follows: firstly,with the introduction of GeoGebra into analytic geometry teaching,students' initiative for and their interests in learning analytic geometry have been greatly improved;secondly,the application of GeoGebra in teaching can help students better understand the combination of algebra and geometry,and also can help improve their imagine ability in learning dynamic geometry;thirdly,with the help of GeoGebra,the teaching efficiency has been greatly improved and the boring classroom atmosphere has also been changed.Finally,this thesis also puts forward some suggestions for teachers,this software engineers and textbook writers.
