The basis of a country consists in education,the foundation of which lies in teachers.Whether the reform of education will succeed depends on teachers.It's known that teacher working in the countryside school,who occupies a high percent in the teaching staff,is the main force to carry on the reform.The PE teachers in the primary school is not only the indispensable undertaker to students comprehensive development in moral,intelligence,sports,aesthetics and labor education,but also the organizer and director to enhance the physical fitness and highlight students' spirit of students.Therefore,it is with accordance with the requirement to teachers in Program for the Reform and Development of Education in China,as well as essential to improve quality of PE teachers working in the countryside school to learn about the living conditions and improve the living surroundings.With more and more social attention paid to education constantly,the research concerned with primary school education is emerging.However,the research about PE teachers working in countryside primary school is limited at present.The respondents of the research include 89 PE teachers and 170 school leaders from 174 primary schools located in 42 towns of 9 counties in Baoding City.According to the levels of economy development,the counties of Baoding City are classified into different sort: higher,middle and lower.9 counties of them from different levels are chosen to represent the whole city area,including Zhuozhou,Lixian,Xushui,Qiangyuan,Wangdu,Laishui,Yixian,and Fuping.As for the towns in the survey,3 sorts are made based on the distance from the central town to the town: far,beside and between.30% towns of each sort are picked out and finally 174 primary schools from 42 towns become the respondents.The focus of the survey lies in 6 aspects: professional ability,identity sense of profession,interpersonal relationship and organization atmosphere,work burden and pressure,income and welfare,occupational plan.The research is mainly carried out through the literature material method,questionnaires method,mathematical statistical method.The literature materials about PE teachers working in countryside schools are available through the Hebei Normal University Library,Xinhua Bookstore of Baoding City,Cnki.net,Wangfangdata.net and other web database such as Baidu and doc.88.There include 5 policies,4 monographs,74 journal articles,51 thesis,from which the summary of current situation of research of PE teachers working in the countryside school,background information and research meaning come into being.Besides,with the analysis and attribution of the current materials,a survey with self made questionnaire is carried out among 89 PE teachers and 170 school leaders.The questionnaire is classified into teacher version and school leader version.In the teacher version,two issues are included about living conditions of teachers: in the conditions of teacher profession,the focus lies in material and reality;in the influence of profession on teacher,the points are spirit and cognition,namely professional ability,identity sense of profession,interpersonal relationship and organization atmosphere,work burden and pressure,income and welfare,occupational plan,covered by 42 questions: in the school leader version,12 headmasters,2 secretaries of CP,95 vice secretaries of CP and 61 directors of school management are involved to provide information about the schools as well as PE teachers and individual opinion to PE education in primary school.What's more,the school leader version is designed with for the school with PE teachers as well as without..The latter one draws more attention to the attitude and opinion of school leaders to PE teachers and education.The data,which is analyzed by mathematical statistical method,will work as exact statistic basis for the essay.It is obvious from the research that the living conditions of PE teachers working in countryside primary school is overwhelmingly negative:small number teaching group,low level of teaching quality,worse working conditions,low level of income and welfare,low social status,weak identity sense,less chances of reeducation,less desire to develop profession,more difficulties.These problems are caused by a large number of elements.The research tries to analyze the reasons why the staff of PE teachers in primary school develops undesirable and put forward suggestions to promote social status,set and perfect management system of school,improve scientific education of PE profession and subjectivization of teachers self-development.It is expected that more social attention will be attracted to the group of PE teachers working in the countryside school and the current profession situations will be improved through the efforts between government,society,school and PE teachers.
