Study On The Problems And Countermeasures Existing In The Indep Endent College Students' Ideology And Morality Development

As the progressing of the world,approaching of the Information Age,passion of the people to obtain knowledge and technologies is enhancing continuously.Due to the necessity of increasing investment in higher education,the government established the private colleges known as Independent Colleges at the end of 1990 s.Independent colleges are greatly effective both in educational resources and campus construction.And therefore the independent colleges played a forward role in exploring higher education reform in China.Independent colleges are newborn,but playing an important part in the society.On the one hand they effectively utilized the private capitals,boosted the development of China higher education,on the other hand they fostered numbers of market-catered and market-fulfilled practical talents which is significantly meaningful to the nation and society.However,at the same time of prosperously developing the students of the independent colleges encountered some ideological and moral quality issues due to many kinds of reasons.To promote the development of the independent colleges and healthy development of the college students' ideological and moral quality,it is necessary to carry out a specific research to the college students' ideological and moral quality of the independent colleges.Therefore,it's been chosen as the topic of the thesis.The thesis has four parts.The first part is a research to the basic situation of the independent colleges.The independent colleges played a key role in the social development and progress,a forward role in the China higher education reform,and more important they fulfilled the knowledge seeking dreams of millions of students.The second part probe into the existing ideological and moral quality problems of students in independent colleges.After visiting the students,students' parents and counselors,many problems have been found in students' ideological and moral quality.I.Generally the study foundation of the students is relatively weak.The students haven't cultivated the habit of study and consciousness,and are weak in ideology and action.II.The students' psychological problems are prominent,especially most the students are in the mid-later stage of youth,inexperienced in handling with career positioning,study and love and so on,immature in the angles of handling and viewing issues.III.The students are weak in resisting setbacks,because most of the families are one-child ones,and what's more the spoiling from the parents make this issue a focus.IV.The students are not accurately oriented in self-positioning.V.The credibility issue.Credibility means the coincidence of speaking and action,and inner mind,no deceit,sincere and honest to others.The most important is the moral standard in interpersonal relationship.It directs us to speak the truth and deliver the true information when talking,not to fabricate and distort the facts.Credibility is to honor and fulfill the words.Be true in word and resolute in deed is the essence in China traditional morality.The third part of the thesis is to discuss the emerging issues and the reasons of the students' ideological and moral quality in independent colleges.The reasons are from three angles.I.Personal reason,their self restraint can't resist the outside influence and leading to the ideological and moral quality problems.II.Family reason,mainly caused by the spoiling from parents because of the extensive one-child families.III.College reason,the lack of moral education works.IV.Social reason,inadequate attention to ideological and moral quality.The fourth part is to investigate into the countermeasures of emerging issues and the reasons of the students' ideological and moral quality in independent colleges.The countermeasures this thesis proposed are: I.Strengthen internal building.II.The families shall play a prominent leading function.III.Strengthen the counselors' education to the students' ideological and moral quality.Specifically is to exert the counselors' leading role,strengthen the educational extent,and emphasize on mastering the manners and measures.IV.Strengthen the education to the student cadres,mainly on two hands,exert their functions and improve the educational manners to them.
