Research On The Promotion Of Independent College Counselors Ideological Quality

As a kind of new, highly energetic education mode, independent colleges have sprung up to flourish in our country. Independent colleges, together with other universities and colleges, shoulder the responsibility of cultivating talents for the society. And counselors are the vanguards and main power of students’ ideological and political education in independent colleges, they are the guiders and leaders on the way of college students’ process of growing up. In face of current situation, independent college counselors begin to shoulder more arduous tasks. Therefore, they should have good qualities in order to complete the task of ideological and political education. However, with the further development of market economy, some of the counselors in independent colleges are greatly influenced by the surrounding environment, both on ideological aspect and on moral aspect. Some problems which can not be ignored have exposed, such as the lack of clear thought and the understanding of political sensitivity is poor, etc. In view of the new situation and newly exposed problems, this thesis put forward that counselors should advance with the time, also they should act under the guideline of Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong thought, Deng Xiaoping’s theory, three representatives theory and the thoughts of scientific development. They should take actions according to our party’s education methods and perform our party’s education policy unswervingly. In their daily work, they should use the basic principle of Marxism to analyze and solve problems,and they must seek truth from facts. By doing this way, they should help the college students establishing correct their outlook of world, of life and of value, therefore help them to tell right from wrong. Thus, in order to cultivate politically qualified college students, there should be qualified guiders and leaders. Hence, it is the counselors in independent colleges who should shoulder this heavy responsibility. Therefore, through the improvement of the ideological and moral qualities of counselors in independent colleges, we can enhance and promote the healthy growing up of college students comprehensively, and thus make contributions to our country and society.
