Outline of the National Medium and Long Term Education Reform and Development Plan(2010-2020)proposes to cultivate a large number of international talents who have international vision,know the international rules and can participate in international affairs and international competitions.Guiding by this policy,and promoting by social and parents,as an important part of education internationalization,there are many international curriculum and schools which put down roots in China.This thesis chooses a famous Shanghai private school---X bilingual school as a case.I explore the school assembly in H campus,International part of this school,which acts as a carrier of integration of Eastern and Western culture,and tries to analyze the organization of school assembly,and how to make these students and teachers who come from foreign or china,understand and internalize this culture integration during school assembly.From the perspective of Geert Hofstede's cultural dimension,depending on four cultural dimensions:freedom and discipline,democracy and authority,individual and collective,active and passive.I conducted a field survey of nearly six months,and classified the school assembly into several types based on the PYP curriculum,includes teaching demonstration and evaluation,festival theme,as well as"election"theme and notify.By these,this paper analyzes the balances and choices between the cultural contradictions embodied in the assembly,and the cultural fusion behind this choice.The study found that in these four cultural dimensions,X school has been trying to find a balance in the school ritual.On the one hand,they emphasizing the independence of the individual,as well as the individual in the collective status and role.On the other hand,they also evoke the students' collective recognition.On the one hand they want to give students freedom of space.On the other hand they also stress the importance of discipline.On the one hand they hope that students can take the initiative to obtain knowledge.On the other hand they also underline the teaching efficiency and effectiveness.And put the teacher-led on the important position.On the one hand,they emphasis on democratic decision-making of many affairs of school.On the other hand,they virtually established a number of authoritative image.Although there are still some problems in the assembly rituals.It also can be a relatively new form.And as a link between Chinese and Western cultures,assembly rituals provide a new way of thinking and new methods.And this new form should also be a future choice in construct school culture.
