This article analyzes the four-time arguments of classic-reading,in purpose of finding out the reason behind the arguments.In this process,compare the three times arguments of modern times with the fourth argument,to find the key functions.Because the mo4ern china was on the brink on destruction,the intellectuals were seeking the social solutions,including the classic-reading.Classic-reading is instrumentalized.In the arguments of classic-reading in modern china,the holiness of classics is vanished.Luxun、Hushi regarded the classics as the common history and Literature books.Zhang tai-yen inherited Zhang xue-Cheng’s theory of "six Confucian classics being history",regarding the classics as history.Form classics to find quintessence,accelerate the classics collapse.Now,China is on the special social background.Belief education is taken seriously.Classic-reading contacts Belief education again.The fourth time argument of classic-reading focused on the way of reading classics,instead of whether read classics.This article analyzes why belief education must be based on classic-reading.And analyzes the difference of religious faith and philosophy faith based on Kant’s Philosophy of religion.At last,the conclusion is definite that classic-reading education is focused on belief education,offering the Chinese the Spiritual home.In educational history,someone put forward to Substituting Aesthetic Education for Religion,Substituting science for Religion,Substituting history for Religion,Substituting Philosophy for Religion.This article agree with the theory of Substituting Philosophy for Religion.In the Chinese background,Substituting Philosophy for Religion equals to Substituting Classic-reading education for Religion.This is the key reason to revive the Classic-reading education.
