Under the influence of western ecological culture trend and the importance that China has attached to the ecological crisis,some scholars and environmentalists have therefore come to realize the significance of ecological culture education since 1980 s.At the meanwhile,such cultural territories as philosophy,aesthetics,ethics and literature served as the pioneer in terms of ecological culture construction.Also media including newspaper,movie,television and internet has reinforced the ecological culture education.Ever since the New Century,schools have taken the initiative in ecological culture education,among which Chinese course was the leader in this regard by cultivating the ecological culture awareness of teenagers via textbook design from middle school to senior high school.Chinese textbook plays a significant role in humanistic quality education and personal growth.Among the three dimension objectives of the New Curriculum Standards,"emotional attitudes and value" education is the implementation of humanistic quality education and personal growth.Particularly in the middle school Chinese textbooks published by PEP,we can find that the editors aim at building the ecological culture awareness of students.Its themes mainly focus on such three aspects as "People and Nature"," People and Society" and "People and Self-Value",all of which can be found the corresponding readings in Chinese textbooks and it targets on cultivating the positive and healthy ecological education awareness of nowadays teenagers and eventually focus on the most important point,i.e,ecological view of life of modern people.Therefore,the writer believes that in the teaching process of middle school Chinese textbook published by PEP,the focus should fall on ecological view of life so as to achieve the goal and cultivate the public with ecological culture.However,based on the research that the writer has conducted before,the ecological culture education and ecological view of life cultivation in Chinese education shoulders heavy responsibilities.Flaws can be found in Chinese textbook edition,New Curriculum Standard,ecological culture awareness of Chinese teachers and the attitudes students hold to this concept.In this paper,I will take middle school Chinese textbook published by PEP as a case study to illustrate the three main shortages there and put forward my ideas which remain to be further developed.First of all,the textbooks are old-fashioned,and few new readings related to ecological culture and environment education are included.Secondly,it falls to achieve a good balance in terms of ecological harmony modules,particularly,very few talks about People and Self-value harmony module.Third,it is not that systematic in some modeling and most readings are limited to the modern,subjective and humanitarian view of life.This paper manages to raise some thoughts and ideas on these problems in hope that they will be further addressed going forward.All together there will be five chapters.Chapter one is introduction,mainly illustrating the reason of studying this topic,current research both at home and abroad,important and difficult points,research approach and main views.Chapter two talks about the basic connotation of ecological culture education and the necessity and feasibility of its implementation in middle school Chinese education.Chapter three takes the middle school Chinese textbook published by PEP as a case study,analyzing the connection between the model selected and ecological view of life education.The core lies in the harmonious relationship construction among People and Nature,People and Society and Peopel and Self-value.In this case,the ecological view of life can be cultivated.Chapter four analyzes the shortage of Chinese textbook edition from the point view of ecological view of life cultivation,and put forward the immature ideas in hope that the ecological view of life can be implemented in the "emotional attitude and value" target.Chapter five is conclusion,demonstrating the realistic and long-term significance of ecological view of life implementation in Chinese education under the perspective of modern ecological environment education.
