| Since 1980s,embodied cognition has aroused widespread concern in the academic field.It emphasizes that "cognition is rooted in the body for action" and provides a new theoretical framework for the design of learning environment.With the development of technology,Virtual Reality has,to a large extent,expanded our body perception,bringing more opportunities to embodied learning.Taking embodied learning design as the breakthrough point,the paper focuses on how to design embodied learning under the support of Virtual Reality in order to promote the effective embodied learning.This research is carried out based on the research project in Open and Distance Education Engineering Research Center of shanghai Open University.Starting from literature research,the paper analyzes the factors that affect the embodied learning in the Virtual Reality environment;then,put forward the design principles under the support of Virtual Reality based on the previous studies,finally,constructs the embodied learning design framework,combined with the two parts of study.The research chooses a course as an example of embodied learning design case,which called "Fire safety knowledge" and organizes the application facing middle school student.Afterwards,through tests,questionnaires and interviews,the research evaluates the learners’ learning results,interests and technical acceptance towards the virtual reality system,and using the EEG instrument to explore the changes of learners’ attention and spiritual relaxation,testing whether the learner’s body participation had a certain effect on the cognitive process in Virtual Reality environment.The study found that the body is indeed involved in the cognitive process,and the embodied learning based on Virtual Reality can effectively improve the learning achievement and has a positive impact on learners’ learning participation and interest in learning during the experiment.Through multi-dimension analysis of the learning effect,the feasibility and effectiveness of the embodied learning design framework based on Virtual Reality has been verified.The research provides some theoretical and practical reference for the embodied learning design with the support of Virtual Reality. |
