Vocabulary is the basis of English learning.Based on the related research results,this study is based on the students of No 9 middle school.The purpose is to understand the junior high school students' English vocabulary learning strategies to find out the causes and give suggestions.In this study,the vocabulary learning strategies are classified as control strategies,cognitive strategies,social strategies and resource strategies.Based on constructivism theory,combining questionnaire survey and interview method,and using software SPSS19.0 for data analrysis.The survey results showed that the overall utilization level of vocabulary learning strategies is not high.Relatively speaking,cognitive strategy is most used,social strategies and resource strategies are least used.Most of students' English vocabulary learning are in a blind state,and do not have a learning plan.Also students often use mechanical way to remember vocabulary,they do not know how to use vocabulary memory skills.The main cause of those problems is that some students have no interest in English learning,not enough attention,can not acquire vocabulary learning method,without perseverance,can not sum up vocabulary learning method,and also do not always share and ask vocabulary learning methods with teachers and students..In view of the above problems,this study make recommendations for teachers and students combined with constructivism theory.Teachers should encourage students,giving them suggestions for how to arrange and plane their English learning.In the class,teacher should explain more about the vocabulary memory skills and encourage students to ask questions.
