As one of the major affective factors,English learning anxiety has received increasingly academic concerns that commonly affects English learners.However,the factors of English classroom anxiety are various;not only the factor of the learners,especially English teachers are the another important factor for English classroom learning anxiety.Although many researchers have the previous studies about the students' foreign language learning anxiety from the perspective of English teacher,the studies of teacher-originated anxiety are less.Most of the studies just focus on the senior high school and university.The studies of junior middle school are rare.Therefore,this study aims to research the current situation and factors of students' teacher-originated anxiety in junior middle school,in order to offer some suggestions to the English teacher,and then alleviate students' teacher-originated anxiety in junior middle school.This study adopts questionnaires,interview and classroom observation to investigate 83 students of grade nine in Zhumadian No.4 middle school.The Questionnaire of Teacher-originated Anxiety is revised from Sun Yi's questionnaire.Based on the results of the questionnaire,the author chosen three students and their English teacher to do the interview and classroom observation.The research questions are:(1)what is the current situation of teacher-originated anxiety?(2)What are the possible causes of teacher-originated anxiety?(3)What should teacher do to alleviate teacher-originated anxiety?The present study eventually finds that:(1)The current situation of teacher-originated anxiety is at a medium level.(2)English teachers' questioning,teachers' language and bad temper are the major factors of students' teacher-originated anxiety in junior middle school.Moreover,teachers' feedback,teachers' error correction,classroom activities and teachers' personal quality also have the impact on students' teacher-originated anxiety in junior middle school.Therefore,in order to lower the anxiety caused by language teachers in junior middle school English class:(1)improving the skills of asking questions;(2)using proper teachers' language;(3)enhancing emotional control capacity;(4)Changing their notion towards teaching,attaching importance to the affective interaction between teachers and students,constructing a harmonious teacher-student relationship in middle school.
