English reading aloud has been neglected in junior high schools due to the present examination and evaluation system in China,so few research on reading aloud is conducted.insufficient.English reading aloud can recognize our pronunciation carefully and find our own defects in English sounds and intonation to promote speech recognition system.Listening comprehension plays an important role in speech recognition system.Meanwhile,in reading aloud,learners can listen and read English from auditory output and visual input to learn the target language,so as to improve students' listening comprehension.The thesis researches whether reading aloud has improved students' listening comprehension.The quantitative and qualitative research were conducted in the research to train reading aloud.For the qualitative research,the case study analyzes the method of reading aloud in the rural junior English instruction,while for quantitative research,the questionnaire and the experimental research discovered what the current situation of reading aloud in rural English instruction and whether reading aloud improves the junior students' English listening comprehension after training the pronunciation in reading aloud in rural junior schools.The subjects of the experiment are 60 students in Grade Eight in Yingyeer Middle School.30 subjects was treated as control group,and the other was experimental group.Two groups were given a pre-test for listening and reading aloud and found out that the experimental group and the control group were identical in reading aloud and listening comprehension level.In the experiment,the experimental group has the 10-week reading aloud training.The same materials were read in control group and experiment group,the experimental group read aloud and the control group read silently.After the experiment,independent sample test results from the post-test showed that there is significant difference in control group and experiment group,through paired sample test results from pre-test and post-test in experiment group,it shows there is significant difference in experiment group after reading aloud training.Through the comparison between the experimental group and the control group,it can be found that it is viable to apply reading aloud in listening teaching for rural junior high school students with the lower English proficiency.It can inspire students' interests in English listening,promote their learning habits and confidence,it also plays an important role in the improvement of listening comprehension.Therefore,from the pedagogic and learning implication of this research,reading aloud applies in rural English listening comprehension can be summarized.The research also can provide a reasonable solution and reference for the difficulties encountered in teaching English listening by the rural teachers.
