A Study On The Ideal And Faith Education Function Of College Students’ Voluntary Service

Ideal and faith education is the core content and volunteer service is an effective way of the ideological and political education among college students.Allowing full play of the function of ideal and faith education of college students’ volunteer service is important for improving the quality of ideological and political education among college students.This thesis focuses on the essential issue of “How to play the educational function of ideal and faith of volunteer service among college students”,and forms four parts of “theoretical interpretation”,“empirical investigation”,“problem analysis” and “ measures and suggestions” according to the line of “raising problems—analyzing problems—solving problems”.The first part is “theoretical interpretation”,which focuses on solving “problems of whether volunteer service among college students has the educational function of ideal and faith or not”.Through analyzing the connotation,patterns and characteristics of volunteer service especially volunteer service among college students,the essence of ideal and faith education as the unity of knowledge education,value education and practical education is illustrated,the internal relations of the essence connection,the same fundamental goal and the consistent value orientation between volunteer service and ideal and faith education are analyzed,and the importance of volunteer service among college students to strengthening the affinity,acceptance and integration of ideal and faith education is expounded.The second part is “empirical investigation”,which emphasis on solving “the effect problems about the function of ideal and faith education of volunteer service among college students”.Taking the life ideal among college students as an example and applying the tracking method as well as the “Purpose Content Survey” taken from “Stanford Youth Purpose Survey”,the state of the ideal and faith among college students and the effect of volunteer service are investigated and analyzed.The survey finds that the volunteer service has a remarkable impact on the content of ideal and faith.After volunteer service activities,the ideal and cognitive level of college students is significantly enhanced.And at the same time,college students have marked deficiency in creative ideal.The third part is “problem analysis”,which focuses on solving “the obstacle problem about the function of ideal and faith education of volunteer service among college students”.Two major problems of insufficient recognition of the cultivated function and lack of security about operation and development of current volunteer service among college students are particularly analyzed.The fourth part is “measures and suggestions”,which emphasizes on solving the problem about “How to play the educational function of ideal and faith of volunteer service among college students”.Strategies such as optimizing value orientation,strengthening the cultivated function and improving the long-term mechanism are put forward emphatically.
