Symbol is not only the language of mathematics,but also the tool and the methods of mathematics learning.It is based on the "compulsory education mathematics curriculum standards(2011 edition)",which put forward the top ten core concepts."Symbol consciousness" is one of them.Therefore,the cultivation of students' symbol consciousness is a major task of compulsory education.What is the meaning of symbolic consciousness? What are the performances? What is the student's symbolic consciousness? How to cultivate it? How to measure the level of consciousness? Based on these problems,this paper puts forward the research hypothesis: we can cultivate students' symbolic thinking and symbolic ability to solve the problem of weak awareness of mathematical symbols.Firstly,this paper summarizes the connotation of related research of symbol sense and mathematical symbols consciousness.Summarize the definition and characteristics of symbols and mathematical symbols,sort out the type of mathematical symbols;From the perspective of psychology and external performance,this paper analyzed and distinguished "symbol sense" with "symbol sense".These laid the foundation for the design of follow-up questionnaires and the lay down of the cultivation strategies.Secondly,the SOLO classification is used to classify the symbol consciousness.And this paper design the corresponding questionnaire to test the students' symbol consciousness.At the same time this paper select some teachers and students to conduct interviews.From these research,we can find: unitary or inaccurate understanding;the lack of diversity and accuracy in symbol indication;the lack of accuracy in the translation of natural language and symbolic language.And based on these problems,this paper from the curriculum,students,teachers,evaluation of the four aspects of the main issues of genetic analysis.Finally,the author based on the scientific,practical,hierarchy,four basic principles of encouragement,from the "symbol of thought"(read)and the "symbolic ability"(with)and puts forward specific measures for training.The final conclusion ofthis study is: Cultivating and improving students' "symbolic thinking" and "symbolic ability" is the best ways to better students unitary or inaccurate understanding,diversity and accuracy in symbol indication,accuracy in the translation of natural language and symbolic language.
