In recent years,the study of learning strategies has become a new field of second language research,and listening strategies as one of them have also attracted special attention of researchers.In fact,many researchers at home and abroad have conducted some surveys and researches on the strategies of listening comprehension.However,most of these studies are done for college students,and few researches on listening strategies of Chinese are for senior high school students.This thesis based on the theory of listening strategies is applied to teaching listening in senior high school mainly discusses the following questions:(1)What changes are there of the students' using listening strategy after the listening strategy training?(2)Can listening strategies training improve students' listening scores in senior high school?In this 16-week experiment 89 students from NO.28 Middle School of Shenyang were chosen as subjects 44 students of them were in EC,and 45 students in CC.During the research procedure,students in EC were taught English listening in the approach of listening strategies.In contrast,students in CC received the traditional way of listening teaching,that is repeated listening and checking of answers.The research instruments were questionnaires,listening tests and an interview.The data collected were analyzed with SPSS 19 software.The results of this thesis are as follows: listening strategy training can promote students' using listening strategies.Some changes of social affective strategies,and meta-cognitive strategies are significant.What's more,the training of using listening strategies in listening is helpful to improve students' listening score.Finally,some suggestions and implication can be proposed based on the analysis of the results of the study,some important listening strategy should be trained in listening class: organizing strategy training in proper sequence,creating enough opportunities for practicing key strategies and building confidence in listening to English.
