Analysis On FIFA Corruption

In 2015 a serious corruption crisis was erupted in FIFA.The emergence of various corruption scandals,officials involved in the position and the amount of corruption is staggering,drawing worldwide attention.For FIFA and other international sports organizations,the voice of reform is growing.From the perspective of rent-seeking theory,the article use literature analysis and case studies on the case of FIFA to study the problem of corruption.First of all,I sort out the types and characteristics of FIFA corruption to help researching the conditions and causes of FIFA rent-seeking corruption.And then analyze the FIFA corruption problem of rent-seeking interest exchange model and the consequences of rent-seeking behavior,and finally for the international Sports organizations,to find the right path of good governance and reform,as the following conclusions:1,Around the FIFA scarce resources,FIFA's corruption is very serious,anti-corruption investigation is very difficult.2,FIFA's monopoly on large-scale international events is the prerequisite for rent-seeking corruption,FIFA's international franchise for large-scale international competition is the condition of rent-seeking corruption.The complex organizational structure and internal opaque reduce the rent-seeking costs.3,Human self-interest and the lack of external supervision is the external causes of FIFA rent-seeking corruption.4,FIFA rent-seeking approach is divided into license distribution,management position and the distribution of income.Through bribes,illegal promises,illegal operations,Corruption related to the hosting,broadcasting and marketing rights,FIFA management positions,income and compensation,and FIFA internal resources and income distribution,obtain excess profits.5,FIFA's corruption caused serious dislocation of the allocation of resources,caused a lot of economic losses.It also seriously damaged the integrity of sports,causing the loss of the FIFA's credibility.It also highlighted the FIFA governance problems,and promoted the reform and development of FIFA.With commercialization and internationalization of Sports,FIFA and the world sports organization lose the condition of political-neutral and value-neutral?The internal contradictions of FIFA,the lack of external supervision and the interests of many stakeholder groups cause the long-term existence of corruption.It decided that FIFA's anti-corruption reform is different from the previous business practice.Enhancing the effectiveness of internal governance is the most important way to achieve FIFA to achieve good governance.From a practical point of view,the reorganization of organizational integrity is the primary goal of the FIFA good governance and reform.And improving the FIFA transparency is feasible path to enhance the FIFA good governance and reform.
