University laboratory is an important base to train students' ability to combine theory with practice.The control and management of laboratory is crucial to the efficient operation of laboratory.As to the traditional management system of laboratory,although owning the assist of video surveillance and use the manual management,it is separated from the whole management,which gives rise to low efficiency and high error rates.The equipment security cannot be guaranteed.As a result,scientific research and teaching cannot be carried out well.Based on the bar code technology,today the experimental equipment management system in colleges,for instance,EAN,NPC etc.has great improvements in technology and security compared with the traditional one.However,it still need to face the problems of high rate of the label damage,inefficient using of laboratory stations and incapable extracting of the information in video surveillance related to equipment management.In conclusion,the existing management methods have hindered the function of the laboratory.Intelligent management and control of the opening laboratory has become an inevitable trend.In this thesis,considering the current situation of laboratory management,a solution based on the ARM cortex-A8 and Linux platform is offered,called “Intelligent laboratory controlling system”.This system has combined the basic need of laboratory controlling management with RFID sensing,video coding,network technology,security testing etc.It has been proved by practice that the system realizes the close combination of the event management and the video monitoring of personnel and equipment.This system is a high-intensively intelligent laboratory controlling system.The main tasks of this thesis are listed as follow:1.The current situation of university laboratory in control and management is analyzed.The related technologies of RFID,embedded system,video compression coding,network transmission and so on to realize the intelligent control in laboratory are researched.2.According to the requirement analysis of the function demands in intelligent laboratory control,the overall system architecture design is put forward,and the hardware platform design,software development environment building and database design are introduced.3.From the aspects of embedded Linux system transplantation,dual band RFID information collection,video capture and compression coding,data transmission,the functions of the system on the ARM embedded platform are discussed in detail.4.The function structure of the host computer control software is designed.The functions of personnel management,equipment management and the video file management are introduced in detail.
