With the increase of investment, the laboratory construction in colleges and universities has been greatly developed. The number and variety of instruments significantly increased, featuring an enormous scale, sophisticated device and higher integrity. However, laboratory management accordingly became more complicated and heavier. Therefore, how to establish a laboratory system based on informatization, intelligent and network management becomes a serious problem that needs an urgent resolution. Based on campus network, an informatization management plan of civil engineering laboratory built on the internet of things was proposed and then to develop a new management model. The intelligent management of the laboratory was realized via combining t he internet of things technologies with the campus network, to improve the efficiency of lab management. The main research points are as follows:First of all, a brief introduction is was given about the research background and meaning along with the present current laboratory management situation both in domestic and abroad universities as well as the current research status of Internet of Things technology.Secondly, this paper was focused on the basic principle and structure of the Internet of things technologyis. Meanwhile analyzed the key technologies of the Internet of things, such as RFID, sensor technology and wireless network communication technology. The feasibility analysis and demand analysis of the university laboratory information management was introduce d based on the Internet of things technology and the currentsituation on the Internet of things technology and laboratory management.Then, proposed the design scheme of laboratory information management system based on Internet of things technology. Base d on the overall structure design, designed the system database, and carried out the design and implementation of the system with three modules that were user management, laboratory equipment and laboratory environment monitoring. After that an and debugge d the system, and the debugging results would be analyzed and optimized.With the help of the design of laboratory management system based on Internet of things, the initial realization of informational zed, intelligent and networked laboratory management would be expected. In addition, the laboratory management system was optimized, which would facilitate the laboratory and management process for administrations and users. Although there are still some difficulties in popularizing and developing this tech nology for practical applicaiton because of the limited technology and high cost, it is expected to be applied into practice in the near future with more efficient management, more complete system as well as lower cost. This study plays a positive role in the application of internet of things in civil engineering laboratory.Four kinds of database security reinforcement technologies, which are described in this paper, have been successful implemented in Hygei a MIS and better results have been obtained.
