With the installation of New Curriculum Standards for High School English Course,the task-based language teaching has become a necessity for high school English teachers to master and use.The teaching of English reading,especially in high schools is critical to both teachers and students.However,the current situations of teaching reading in high school cannot meet the needs of economic and social development.There is a large gap between the requirements of the New Curriculum Standards and teaching reality.At present more and more experts and researchers have conducted researches on the theory of task-based language teaching and some teachers have made efforts to apply it to the teaching practice.Task-based reading teaching model has opened up a new way of thinking to the current English reading teaching.Therefore,the application of task-based teaching to high school English reading has become the focus for front-line teachers and has significance.Based on the actual situation of English education in senior high school,this paper discusses how to improve the teaching practice of English reading from three aspects:pre-task,task-cycle and language focus.The paper combines with the specific text and successfully demonstrates the task-based language teaching in English reading process.The paper aims to know the present situation of task-based language teaching in English reading.And its purpose is to find the problems existing in high school English reading for students and its aim is to design the tasks to solve the problems in students' reading.At the same time,it aims to study the effect of TBLT in reading and puts forward some suggestions for the application of task-based teaching language in reading.
