A Study On The Function Of Moral Education Of College Students’ Voluntary Service

With the successful hosting of Beijing Olympic Games,our country embraces the year of voluntary service,and college students,as the young volunteers,have played an important role during the Beijing Olympic service activities,which exerts positive influence in society,thus becoming a banner in the construction of socialist morality.Therefore college students’ voluntary service not only can be used as an effective carrier of moral education in colleges and universities in the new era,but can be employed as a new approach to improve the moral quality and all-round ability of students.Meanwhile,a good performance of the function of moral education of college students’ voluntary service will promote socialist modernization construction in China.In this respect,it is of great significance to conduct research on the function of moral education.Firstly,this thesis clearly defines the concept of service,voluntary service and college students’ voluntary service and summarizes the characteristics and significance of college students’ voluntary service through comparison.Secondly,on the basis of explaining the concept of moral education and the function of moral education,it focuses on studying the function of moral education in terms of individuality and sociality,taking the college students’ voluntary service as the starting point.Thirdly,it analyzes the unfavorable factors that influence the implementation of the function of moral education in detail.Finally,on the foundation of learning from foreign voluntary service and combining with China’s national conditions as well as the characteristics of college students,this thesis puts forward constructive countermeasures from such three aspects as deepening the understanding of voluntary service,creating a new mechanism of voluntary service with the embrace of the Internet and perfecting the social security mechanism so as to eliminate the restrictions and give a full play to the function of moral education of college students’ voluntary service.
