ObjectivesTo investigate the mental health and its influential factors of undergraduate nursing students;to explore the effect of Positive Psychotherapy intervention on depression,anxiety,life satisfaction and subjective well-being.Methods(1)To investigate 272 undergraduate nursing students by using the Mental Health Continuum,to find out the current situation and influencing factors of mental health of nursing students.(2)From the perspective of positive psychology,we refer to Professor Seligman's group positive psychotherapy to develop intervention programs.After determining the evaluation tool,we recruited undergraduate nursing students from one to three grade in the Bengbu Medical College.66 undergraduate nursing students were selected to be sample.They were randomly divided into two groups,32 in the intervention group and34 in the control group.Subjects in the intervention group were given the Six-Week Group Positive Psychotherapy in the early semester(September to October of 2016)while the control group did not take any measures.Using the Self-rating Depression Scale,Self-rating Anxiety Scale,Mental Health Continuum,Satisfaction with Life Scale,Index of Well-being to get the outcome of undergraduate nursing students' depression,anxiety,life satisfaction and subjective well-being at basic lineT0,time after the interventionT1,1 monthT2 to analyze the effect of intervention.Results1.Mental health status and its influencing factors of undergraduate nursing students(1)Results of polit study:the total score in MHC-SF of nursing students was(3.49±0.79);the score of EWB,SWB,PWB were(3.57 ± 0.85),(3.29 ± 0.95)and(3.61 ±0.86).There are 153(56.25%)nursing students in the flouring,114(41.91%)nursing students in the moderately mental health,5(1.84%)nursing students in the languishing.There were significant differences in the scores of mental health among high school grades and different grades(P<0.05).(2)The results of regression analysis showed that the relationship between the students,counselors' care,professional attitude,academic level,parents' expectation,and employment had different effects on the mental health of nursing undergraduates.2.Effect of Positive Psychotherapy on undergraduate nursing students?mental health(1)MHCRepeated measurement data indicated that the main time effect on MHC score was significant(P<0.05),and there were no significant in the main intervention effect and no significant interaction between time and intervention(P>0.05).The MHC scores of two groups at different time points after intervention were compared.The results showed that there was no significant in MHC scores at different time points(T1,T2,T3)(P>0.05).(2)Satisfaction with lifeRepeated measurement data showed that the main intervention effect and time effect on life satisfaction score were significant(P<0.05).There was no significant interaction between time and intervention(P>0.05).After the intervention,at different time points(T1,T2,T3),t test was used to compare the scores of life satisfaction between the two groups(P<0.05).(3)Index of Well-beingThe results of repeated measurement data showed that the main time effect and the main intervention effect on Index of Well-being was significant(P<0.05),there was no significant interaction between time and intervention(P>0.05).The t test was used to compare the scores of the two groups at different time points after intervention(T1,T2,T3),and the difference was significant(P<0.05).(4)DepressionRepeated measurement data indicated that the main intervention effect and the main time effect on depression score were significant(P<0.05).There was no significant interaction between time and intervention(P>0.05).After the intervention at different time points(T1,T2,T3)two groups of depression scores,the results showed that the difference was significant(P<0.05).(5)AnxietyRepeated measurement data indicated that the main intervention effect on anxiety score was significant(P<0.05),and the main time effect,interaction between time and intervention had no significant(P>0.05).The two groups after intervention at different time points of anxiety scores were compared between groups,the results showed that at different time points(T1,T2,T3)in two groups were significant(P<0.05).3.Qualitative interview resultsThe interview results show that positive psychological intervention has a good effect on nursing students' understanding of themselves,learning to cope with difficulties,and discovering the beauty in life.Conclusion1.The mental health of undergraduate nursing students is at the medium level,and the level of mental health needs to be further improved.2.Positive psychological intervention has a buffer effect on depression and anxiety,which can effectively improve the life satisfaction,subjective well-being,promote their physical and mental health,and maintain a certain degree.
