Rumination is a method of coping with negative mood that involves self-focused attention and closely related to mental health. Some researchers consider that rumination is only related to negative psychology.Other researchers consider that rumination includes two basic dimensions:positive rumination is beneficial to mental health, and negative rumination is not conducive to mental health. This study adopts the latter view.According to the concept of positive psychology, this study think cultivating positive rumination is an effective way to prevent mental illness and improve mental health. Therefore,we designed positive rumination training classes to test its effect. On the cognitive mechanism of rumination,we choose attention bias as an indicator to explore its relationship with rumination. This study included two parts.Firstly, according to the theory of positive rumination, this research developed the junior middle school mental health classes, which consist of 14 class hours/semester.The subjects were 50 junior two students. They were divided into the experimental group and the control group, with 25 students in each group.Questionnaires were conducted before and after the training classes, which was to understand the changes of rumination and mental health of the subjects. As a result, data on all rumination projects-increased,and some data on a part of negative ruminant projects fell. All positive mental indicators increased, and some negative psychological indicators decreased.Negative rumination can predict all mental health indicators, forward predict the negative psychology and backward predict the positive psychology.Positive rumination can only backward predict some part of negative psychology.Secondly, the experiment was designed with 2(stimulus type:facial expression,words)*3(emotion type:positive,negative,neutral)*2(detection point location:on the same side of stimulus,on the other side of stimulus). The subjects were divided into batches to test the attention bias response time.Study analyzed the results of pre-test and post-test and the aim was to explore whether the change of attention bias is the cognitive mechanism of positive rumination training class affecting mental health. As a result, there were significant differences between 4 projects of attention bias, and only when the dependent variable was anxiety, the attention bias mediator model was established. The conclusions:The positive rumination training psychology classes can improve the mental health level of middle school students.Attention bias may be one of the cognitive mechanisms, but needs further research.
