In the climate of rapid social information development,we confronted with various complicated problems.Problem-solving ability remains the hot topic in the study of subject teaching.With the development of curriculum reform,more and more in-depth information technology classroom teaching are carried out.The overall goal of the information technology course is to cultivate students' information sense which includes the information awareness,information capability,and other basic qualities toward information.All these will be reflected in the process of solving information problem.Theme-based instruction,an enquiring teaching method in a real context,helps students to solve the problems and realize knowledge construction via their active exploration and cooperation.It is meaningful to facilitate students' problem-solving ability by applying theme-based instruction in the high-school Information Technology classroom.This paper,in order to test the role of theme-based instruction in promoting students' problem-solving ability,carried out study on the following aspects:(1)studying the Chinese and foreign literature related to this study and making a present situation analysis,summary on the topic of “theme-based instruction","problem-solving teaching" and " promote the problem-solving ability by theme-based instruction” and putting forward the topic of the thesis;(2)defining the “theme-based instruction" and "problem-solving ability" and analyzing the theoretical basis of this study: the theory of constructivism,humanism theory and problem-solving theory;(3)the analysis of the necessity and feasibility of applying the theme-based instruction in the high school information technology subject followed by building a theme-based teaching mode suitable for problem-solving ability improvement in the information technology classroom based on the characteristics of present theme-based instruction teaching pattern from the perspective of problem-solving;(4)designing and develop theme-based website to support the teaching experiment according to the theme-based teaching mode which is help improve the students' problem-solving ability;(5)carrying out a 15-week teaching experiment on six topic in two classes which are chosen form Grade 1 senior middle school in Zichuan Middle School as control class and experiment class respectively according to the plan of the experiment;(6)analyzing the questionnaire which are done before and after the experiment respectively in two classes and analyzing the students' learning results and the teaching process.This paper draws the following conclusions through the above research:(1)the theme-based instruction,in line with the internal process and rule of problem-solving,facilities the improvement of problem-solving ability;(2)the dynamic learning website can help students realize effective learning,communication coordination and the problem-solving;(3)the theme-based instruction can effectively promote the development of students' problem-solving ability.This article,carrying out theme-based instruction from the perspective of solving problem,provides reference for information technology subject.At the same time,there are still some pities that sample representative is not strong and the number of classes in each week is not big.Hope that the future research can expand the scope of objects of study and improve measurement of the information technology problem-solving ability to better improve the students' ability of problem-solving.
