The Empathy Training For Junior School Freshmen

Today in China's quality education,students especially the ones who transit from the late childhood to becoming the early adolescence,the students mental health effect their physiological and mental development.As the high speed of Chinese economy coming with the 21 st century,Children are living under the batter conditions and getting more care from their family and society.And some teenagers do not have civilization but more selfishness,they do not know how to love and do more understanding to their surroundings.This study using Hoffman(1982)who proposed“empathy development model”which being the theoretical basis to improve and enhance the level of the junior students' capacity of empathy.This paper aims to study and improve the status and characteristics of empathy of junior school freshmen;Study 1 study the current status and the characteristics of empathy during the middle school students;Study 2 selected 32 students and randomly divided into experimental and control groups,each group has 16 students dividing to 8 boys and 8 girls in each group,and the do the training for the experimental group.Conclusions:(1)The junior middle school students' empathy is at the middle level,there still have room for improvement in the empathy of awareness and behavior.(2)The level of empathy of gender is significant difference,the level of empathy of girls is significantly higher than that of boys.In the imagination dimension the difference of male and female of junior students is obvious.(3)The current situation of the level of students' empathy: there is no significant difference in the place of students,there is no obvious difference between the situation of students only child or not,there is no obvious difference in junior school freshmen.(4)Group guidance can effectively improve the empathy ability of junior school freshmen.
