Intergeneration Conflict And Change

From the reform in 1978,the change is obviously at rural in China.Traditional ideas is vanished slowly,especially about elderly support.Recently,Chinese peasant should support their older parents and provide resource to their young children.The dual pressure let them choose a new pattern for elderly support.because the dual pressure,intergenerational conflict is gradually expanded.In the situation of traditional ideas vanished,how the conflict is exacerbate between older and their children?Young children could ease or intensify the conflict betweens parents and grandparents.that is my research issue.This study is about intergenerational conflict how to change between behavior and attitude of older support through the family Zhao at Q county in Hebei province.It is different that support elderly from collectivization period to reform,and from the period of reform to 21st century.Standards of filial piety is playing the leading role at parents,and intergenerational reciprocity is the leading role in offspring,while international exploitation is formed at grandchildren.It is intensified the intergenerational conflict because different treatment of three sons' families and boy preference in the older Zhao couple.The frequency of brothers' families reduced fast,as well as on grandchildren.Worst of all,it is just courtesy greetings between grandparents and their grandchildren.So young children are respectful to them.In general,the elderly have or not economy resource and they how to balance on children,is the key of conflict serious or not in the future.This paper concluded following views.With industrialization and urbanization,elderly has traditional ideas and ask their sons support them,their sons request them support by themselves and share the responsibility of elderly support with sibling.Grandchildren want them parents give more resource to help them survive in urban,they hope government support elderly replaced.
