Willis's framework of task-based teaching is a development of the communicative teaching ideology, which puts the basic concept of language use into practical classroom teaching. This study attempts to study the influences and effects Willis's framework might have on oral English teaching in high school, and the methods of improving students' oral English ability by applying Willis's framework into oral English classroom teaching in a high school.The research questions are as follows: 1) Whether Willis's framework is more effective than 3P traditional teaching method in high school oral English teaching? 2)What kind of effect does Willis's framework have on improving students' oral English fluency? 3) What kind of effect does Willis's framework have on students' oral English learning strategies?The subjects of this study come from two parrallel classes in grade one from a four-star high school in Jiangsu. Both the experiment class (EC) and control class(CC)have almost the same oral English level and oral English strategies which have been tested by the pre-questionnaire and pre-oral test. During the research, the experiment class uses the method of Willis's framework of task-based language teaching in oral English teaching; while the contral class uses the traditional method to teach oral English.After the research, both the experiment class and control class are tested again through questionnaire and oral English test to check whether there are any changes after the research. At last, the author also randomly selected ten students to make an interviw for futher explaining the research questions. At last, all the data have been collected and analyzed.The study reaches the following foundings: firstly, Willis's framework of task-based language teaching is effective in high school oral English teaching, and it could arouse students' interests; secondly, by comparing the results of two oral English tests before and after the research, the improvement in students oral English level is seen, with special significance in speech rate; finally, students' oral English learning strategies have been optimized after research. In contrary to mechanical drill, students are more positive in practicing and activities with aims.The inspiration of this study is that Willis's framework of task-based teaching is an effective method for oral English teaching. Teachers should master and apply Willis's framework according to teaching contents and objects. In oral English or other classes,teachers should strive to provide students with opportunities for communication and cooperation. Let students be the center of class, the master of learning, so as to realize the true objective of education.
