The Decline And Reconstruction Of Rural Order

The process in which the urban gradually disintegrated the rural regions has already begun in Modern Times of China. Currently, since China lies in a transitional phase in the process of urbanization,rural issues are increasingly prominent. Over the past three decades,a rapid change of urban-rural structure has taken place in China, social mobility is of an unprecedented size, modernization and urbanization has changed the structure of rural area,and urbanization plays a significant role in the collapse of the suburban rural society alongside the southeast coast. Since industrialization and urbanization has attracted a great number of youth adults from rural regions, it's now facing with dual impacts of hollo wing-out and atomization of interpersonal relationship, and the resulting public crisis in rural area is in need of seeking the way of reconstruction.This paper considers the Ruiyan cultural hall as a new rural public space and aims to discuss the possibility of rebuilding rural order by exploring its functions of culture and organization. As an attempt which has led the villagers to participate consciously by the top-down mobilization of the government, cultural hall acts as a conscious process of promoting the rural reconstruction. The status quo turn out that, to some extent, the organizational consciousness of the villagers has been inspired by the cultural hall. However,the consciously consciousness is still very weak, that is, their subjective willingness of reconstructing the rural order. In this way, cultural hall's pattern of cultivating rural autonomous power could well have been a new attempt to solve the problem of"hollowing-out in rural society".
