Graduate education is at the tip of the national education system, which has made important contributions to cultivating high-level talents, creating high-tech achievements and providing high-level social services for the country. In recent years, with the rapid development of graduate education, the poor quality and the lack of scientific research capacity of postgraduates have become an indisputable fact. Therefore, how to improve the scientific research ability of graduate students becomes a major and urgent task at present.Because there is no effective measurement tool for assessing the scientific research ability of postgraduates until now, this study will apply research self-efficacy instead of research ability to the discussion of related issues. Research self-efficacy is one's judgment of his or her ability to implement or complete research task, which could reflect and predict one's scientific research ability or performance. However,what factors will affect graduate students' research self-efficacy? It is an important issue worthy of further study.Based on the Research Training Environment Theory and the Self-efficacy Theory,this study tries to start from the relationship between research training environment and self-efficacy of graduate students, then performs a confirmatory factor analysis of the dimensions of the research training environment scale and the self-efficacy scale by Amos21.0, and make a multivariate regression test on the relationship between research training environment and research self-efficacy. This study is aimed to explore the impact of research training environment on the self-efficacy of graduate students, so as to provide constructive suggestions on how to enhance the research self-efficacy of postgraduates.The study is divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction, which first explains the origin of the problem, then puts forward three problems to be solved in this study, and finally explains the theoretical value and practical significance of this study.The second part is the literature review. This part firstly reviews the relevant literature of postgraduate, research self-efficacy, research training environment, to sort out and clarify the definition of the relevant concepts. Then it introduces the Self-efficacy Theory based on the factors and influences of self-efficacy, and elaborates nine kinds of elements in research training environment. Thirdly, the literature about the influence of scientific research training environment on postgraduates' research self-efficacy is sorted out, and the relevant research results are reviewed to better grasp the research direction. Finally, on the basis of the relevant research, results were reviewed to grasp the direction of research better.The third part is the research design, which firstly introduces the research ideas,research methods and research models. Secondly, according to the research model, it puts forward the hypothesis of this study. Thirdly, it compiles the test questionnaire,defines the variables, and carries out the item analysis and reliability and validity test.Finally, on the basis of the test, it determines the sample size and carry out the test formally.The fourth part is the result analysis. This part first carries on the descriptive statistical analysis and the relevant analysis to the graduate research environment and the research self-efficacy. Secondly, the linear regression is carried out to test the relationship between the research training environment and the research self-efficacy.Finally,the results are analyzed.The fifth part is the conclusion and suggestion. This part first summarizes the conclusion of the descriptive statistical analysis and the multiple regression analysis of scientific research training environment and postgraduate's research self-efficacy.Secondly, it provides suggestions on how to improve the self-efficacy and scientific research ability of graduate students.The sixth part is concluding. This part points out the innovation and the shortcomings of this research, and puts forward the prospect of the follow-up study.In conclusion, this study makes an empirical analysis of the impact of research training environment on postgraduates' research self-efficacy, which finds out the gender,school and discipline, research attitude of postgraduate, the faculty model, reinforcement for scientific research activities, early and minimally threatening involvement in research and the combining of research with practice are the factors which have a significant effect on the research self-efficacy of graduate students. Based on this, the following suggestions are put forward: it is necessary to cultivate the interest of graduate students, strengthen the role demonstration of teachers, promote the positive research incentive, strengthen the training of scientific research practice, and help graduate students to improve their self-efficacy.
