Micro-teaching has won wide attention in education field since it first came into being in 1960s.With many years' practice and development,it has gradually become an important teacher training procedure in many normal universities.Furthermore,its feasibility and efficiency has been proved by previous research,which contributes to its high status in teacher education.Up to now,there has been much research conducted on the effect of improving student teachers'teaching techniques through micro-teaching,however,little emphasis has ever been laid on in-service teachers.Therefore,research concerning in-service teachers has much to be explored further.This dissertation,based on cooperative learning theory and constructive learning theory,intends to explore the effect of micro-teaching from the perspective of in-service teachers,specifically,part-time M.ED members of Grade 2015 in Central China Normal University.The research questions are:1.What do in-service teachers think of micro-teaching?2.What are the main effects of micro-teaching on in-service teachers?3.From the perspective of in-service teachers,what are the limitations of micro-teaching?Two research methods have been used in this research,namely,questionnaire and interview.In addition,SPSS has also been employed to process the data collected from the methods mentioned above.The results of the present research are:1.The vast majority of in-service teachers hold a positive attitude toward micro-teaching practice and its effects have been confirmed.2.The main effects of micro-teaching can be summarized as follows:the improvement of multi-media practice and classroom management practice,the cultivation of reflective teaching awareness.Meanwhile,the microteaching experience was also felt to have some limitations:inadequate course hours,inappropriate class arrangement,limited teaching content and style.The significance of this research lies in,theoretically,promoting the perfection of micro-teaching theory and practically,figuring out the problems of micro-teaching practice and solutions,thus providing direction for future research.
