Although the major of primary school education has been offered by some normal universities. Cultivating the primary school teachers is still the main task of normal schools in backward areas. Higher education of primary school teachers for 5 years in Teachers school is the cradle of cultivating primary school teachers .Teacher as a special profession has its own features and technological demands, which needs extraordinary training. However, There are some meaning which can not be expressed in words during the teaching process owing to the complexity and integrity of the teaching activity. According to the needs of time and the situation of education development,the construction of the operational mathematics micro-teaching system ,which is guided by the idea of new curriculum reform and combined with the teaching theory of primary school mathematics and aimed at cultivating the students' ability of primary school mathematics teaching, is the most urgently solved issue for five-years' college education for primary school teacher.The paper is mainly involved in four aspects: the history and presence of micro-teaching; the quality and study content of micro-teaching; the theory concept and training mode;the practical research on mathematics micro-teaching for five-years' college education for primary school teacher. The research is not aimed at the research of micro-teaching theory itself, but the validity of micro-teaching applied in the five-years' college education for primary school teacher and the feasibility of the teachers' training in the undeveloped areas. The micro-teaching in the mathematics major in Guangyuan normal school will be the case in the research.206 college students in grade 2000,2001 and 2002 (mathematics major) are selected as the study object. The research will be helpful to understand the importance of micro-teaching in mathematics and provide the mode of mathematics teacher's training in primary school. Meanwhile it will be an effective way to solve the problems of teachers' ability development and lay the foundation for enriching the teaching skills.
