Reading is the most important means for people to acquire knowledge and information,and the main input of language learning.English learning is to master and use reading and writing skills.And reading strategies plays a key role in English learning and language outputting as well as in English teaching.Therefore,we should pay attention to strengthening students' English reading strategies.In recent years,requirements for students' reading strategies of the new curriculum standards have arisen in senior high school entrance examination.But the ability to judge,reason and summarize of most junior high school students is very low.Therefore,in order to improve students' reading efficiency and cultivate their ability to read independently,it is necessary to study the English reading strategies of junior high school students.Based on the theory of learning strategy,this paper attempts to research the use of English reading strategies of two middle school students in eastern and western Hubei Province and try to solve two problems in the following:Firstly,according to the four dimensions of learning strategy in New Curriculum Standard,what are the similarities and different points of teachers' English reading strategies teaching between Middle School of Foreign Language Attached to Wuhan University(WDFZ)and Bowen Middle School(BWMS).Secondly,according to the four dimensions of learning strategy in New Curriculum Standard,what are the differences of students between these two schools in using English reading strategies?This paper takes English teachers and students of two junior high schools in Wuhan and Enshi as the research subjects,and conducts a research by distributing the questionnaire randomly.Through the questionnaire,we will understand the current situation of the students of two schools in the English reading strategy.Finally,we will analyze the survey data comprehensively to have a knowledge of English reading strategies of junior high school students by analyzing the differences between the two schools.Through the whole study,the following results are obtained:1.There exist some similarities and differences in English reading strategies teaching in economically developed and underdeveloped areas in Hubei Province.2.There are some differences in using English reading strategies of junior high schools in developed and underdeveloped areas.Based on the research results,it is known to us that there are some similarities and differences of teachers' English reading strategies teaching and students' reading strategies using in two junior high schools between developed and underdeveloped areas in Hubei province.It will make teachers aware of the importance of English reading strategies,which should be taught to students in future teaching in order to improve their English ability as well as their English scores.Hope that the research about English reading strategy in this article will be helpful to future study in the field.
