Investigation And Analysis Of The Use Of Thailand Chinese Teaching Syllabus In Some High Schools In Suphanburi Province

Despite the increased in the number of Chinese learners in Thailand in the recent years, the design of the teaching content of Chinese teaching syllabus is very diverse.Due to many factors, it is difficult to use the designed teaching syllabus in the actual teaching situation (and results in different teaching method used instead).This paper mainly conducted a questionnaire survey through Chinese major high school students in 4 high schools in Suphanburi province about the correlation between the Chinese language syllabus and the actual teaching situation. In addition, this paper designed a test for the students according to their syllabus to test their Chinese language level with a survey about the test. The results of the surveys and the test are used to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the Chinese teaching syllabus in Thailand.According to the Chinese student test scores showed that the actual teaching and the syllabus is uncorrelated due to variety of reasons such as Chinese teachers and the students,textbooks, design of the Chinese teaching syllabus and other factors. In addition,this paper also analyzes the advantages and the disadvantages of the (current) syllabus of Chinese teaching in Thailand.It is hope that the results of this study can somewhat provide some suggestions for the design of Thailand Chinese teaching syllabus and to provide a reference for Chinese teachers to improve the efficiency of their Chinese teaching. Lastly it is hope that this paper will help improve the current Chinese teaching syllabus become more practical.
