The Research Of Academic Consultancy Management Of University Students

In respect of student affairs in universities,the role of class tutor is irreplaceable,and its importance cannot be ignored.The fulfillment of class tutors' function is not only the critical process to maintain student management,but also the important composition of educating and subject developing.The current work of class tutor has achieved some results,such as enhancing the class cohesion,sustaining the student management,assisting students' development.However,there is also unsatisfactory in common,mainly in over-emphasizing the importance of political education and daily management,separating student management and academic management.There is no particular system and measurement for class tutor management.Practical difficulties and problems still exist,especially the insufficient support for class tutors.The author integrates her years' experience of student affairs and school management,to analyze the overall development process of academic consultancy system under the context of managing student affairs.The concept of academic consultancy system is emerged from the principles of education and management,which is based on the example of Education School of Beijing Normal University,Zhuhai Campus.The research is guided by school effectiveness theory and student development theory.It searches the answers in the dynamic research,and clarifies the intention and function of academic consultancy system.The research also stresses the 3 major participants of academic consultancy management,establishes the system of academic consultancy management,and summaries the scientific measurement.Academic consultancy system will make break-throughs in many aspects,such as innovative working methods,subject branding activities,the communication platform strengthening for students of 4 grades,the establishment of students' feedback,the development of students' studying interest,accelerating the self-development of consultants,improving the overall management level of the school.The author has proposed solutions and suggestions to the following 5 major aspects:establishing the management target,clarifying the intention and function,composing the complete structure,improving the job content,and creating the maintenance mechanism.She points out that the academic consultancy system is going to be improved step by step in a dynamic operation.This will help the organizations in terms of reference and research,especially to those who would like to adopt the academic consultancy system.This research completes the missing part of current studies,and also provides extra element and inspiration to studying class tutors' work.It makes the work of student affairs moreprofessional.The process of practice does not only benefit the academic consultants with their own development,but also satisfy the needs of students' development under the new context.This is a creative research.The concrete research process rationalizes the class work.This is also a dynamic research process.It will continuously develop as time goes on and education proceeds.The development will indicate its efficiency on management,which will prove the effort and meaning to the work of student affairs and educating work in universities.
