With the development of network technique and the popularity of smart phones,and the diversified function of App,a new learning method,which uses App on Mobile phones,is becoming popular gradually.Bai Cizhan(App)is based on the innovative design of paraphrase picture,hieroglyphic map,and vocabulary TV etc,which impact the learning way of learners.English vocabulary learning in senior high school plays an important role on this stage.However,the traditional ways of vocabulary learning and teaching are unitary.Then it is necessary to have more researches on senior middle school English vocabulary teaching.This study analyzes the impacts of Bai Cizhan(App)on senior middle school English vocabulary learning and teaching,which is based on Multi-modal and language learning strategies theories.This research chose 110 senior high students in Zi Zhou Senior Middle School as experimental subjects.The experimental class uses the Bai Cizhan(App)to learning vocabulary;the control class applied traditional methods to learning vocabulary.Then students in two classes receive a vocabulary test and investigation after the experiment.The results show that the mean of vocabulary is improved in experimental class,there is no significant difference on the tests of filling in the blanks and the proper forms of the words and synonym phrases but on the tests of word interpretation and word spelling,meanwhile the mean of four tests in experimental class increased more obviously than that in control class.From the investigation results of vocabulary learning strategies,there is the significant difference in two classes and the mean of vocabulary learning strategies is higher.However,the mean of meta-cognition strategies in twoclasses is both less than three,which indicates that the students less use meta-cognition strategies and they have weak ability to do the self-management well.This study finds that the application of vocabulary learning software can improve students' interest in learning English and promote the students' ability of vocabulary interpretation and word spelling,it also enhances the students' awareness of the application of vocabulary learning strategies,as for some vocabulary tests and the vocabulary strategies,it needs teachers' guidance and supervision to improve the autonomy of vocabulary learning.
