The ability of geography space thinking is essential for every student.It is not only one of the requirements in education for all-around development,but also the basic quality of every citizen.The ability of geography space thinking is a characteristic but comprehensive ability of geographic subject.And it also accords with the requirements in new curriculum reform,which aims to teach students practical and useful geographic knowledge.With the help of local geographical curriculum resources,this thesis is mainly to discuss the methods to cultivate students' ability of geography space thinking;so that the geography class would be more vivid,and the teacher could develop their diversified teaching-methods.The thesis takes “the strategies to develop high-school students' capability on geographic space” as the research objective,based on the cognitive learning theory,experience learning theory,and paradigmatic teaching theory.It carries thorough investigation and analysis to the freshmen of high school from Nanchong.The research shows the real level of high-school students and their universal problems.In this case,the thesis provides the strategies to develop high-school students' ability on geographic space thinking,which is based on the local geographical curriculum resources,and the thesis also demonstrates how to put the strategies into practical application.The local geographical curriculum resources are extensive,pertinent and original.The students would be more immersive,since many places from the materials are familiar to them.The students would be more interested in the subject,and they would have a more thorough understanding about the language points,and even develop the ability of analogy.What is more,Rome was not built in a day;the teachers should keep updating their teaching-methods according to the different conditions of the students.The thesis makes thorough investigation and analysis to the high-school students' ability on geographic space thinking.It summarizes the existing problems and provides practical solutions.However,limited by the course scheduling,the examination could not be carried out during the process of teaching experiment.As a result,the final results and teaching effect could not be count up to form statistics.In a word,it needs more thorough and systematic research on the strategies to develop high-school students' capability of geographic space.All of these would make the geography lessons more vivid and interesting;and the students would benefit a lot from it.
