Party and state leaders are attaching great importance to the development of sports health industry,and in the eighteenth national congress of the communist party of China the sports health industry has been added into the national development plan.Therefore,the study of sports science has far-reaching significance.Table Tennis is a very popular course among college students,and one important goal of this course is to enable students to master basic table tennis skills.However,limited by the training field,equipment and class hours in colleges and universities,motor skill learning must be under the guidance of scientific theories so as to achieve the intended teaching effect and to complete the teaching objectives.Learning theory has a history of more than 100 years up to now.From behaviorism to cognitivism,to humanism and constructivism,learning theory has gone through four stages.With the development of China's education,physical education research is also deepening,but the development of motor skill learning theory is still in the initial stage.In the study of motor skill learning theory,American scholar Gentile adds a dimension on the basis of one-dimensional classification of motor skills,which is to analyze motor skill features from both “environmental background dimension” and “motor function of characterization dimension”.She also categorizes the characteristics of these two dimensions,forming a classification by 16 actions.In the teaching experiment of table tennis,Gentile motor skill classification method follows the law of the behaviorist learning theory and other learning theories.Based on Gentile's learning theory,any one of the motor skills can practice changes through the dimensions of “environmental background” and “motor function of characterization”.It emphasizes the process of “strengthening” the practice in learning,pays attention to the effect brought by environment and other human factors,so that students and teachers can together build a more scientific and effective motor learning model.In this paper,the author uses the experimental method,questionnaires,literature method,expert interviews,mathematical statistics and other scientific research methods,combines with his own rich experience in table tennis,and introduces Gentile's motor skill classification learning method in experiment teaching.Students' motor skill level shows that Gentile's motor skill classification learning method is feasible and has a good teaching effect in college table tennis courses,which canprovide some theoretical reference for the teaching practice of table tennis courses and various physical sports disciplines.Based on the teaching experiments in sixteen weeks and a series of theoretical studies,this paper analyzes a great deal of data and draws the following conclusions:1.Viewed from its history,there are four kinds of learning theories,namely,behaviorist learning theory,cognitive learning theory,humanistic learning theory and constructive learning theory.In the physical education teaching in some universities and colleges,table tennis motor skills learning gives priority to the behaviorist learning theory.2.Table tennis motor skill is the external circulation of open sports skill.Simple decomposition action of repetitive practice the traditional behaviorist learning theory has its limitation when it guides table tennis learning,for it ignores people's subjective initiative,only regards the formation of motor skills as conditioned reflex,but neglects the positive effects brought by the changes of the environmental and other elements in motor skills learning.3.In some universities and colleges,through Gentile's motor skill learning method,students can practice changes when “environmental background dimension” and“motor function of characterization dimension” change,and therefore understand“strengthening” for skills learning more scientifically.Gentile's theory also pays attention to the effect brought by changes,so that students and teachers together can build a more scientific and effective motor skill learning model and students can better grasp the skills.4.Guided by Gentile's motor skill classification learning method,the atmosphere of the table tennis class is so good in colleges and universities that students can actively participate in classroom teaching activities.5.Gentile's method makes no sense for advising students' physical fitness training.
