A Study Of Campus Crisis Management Plan-A Case Study Of D University

Crisis management as a crucial part of public management study has reflected a scientific management in contemporary society.The crisis management theory has been applied in the government,the military and the enterpriseat the earliest,however,a core study of the university crisis management has raised the public attention after the SARS in 2003,which is relatively late compared to other countries.As a significant social organization and the learning community for senior intellectuals,the university is sensitivity and complexity.With the increasing society changes,the continued reformation and a more complicated international situation,the universities in China have witnessed great changes in both internal and external environment.The university crisis occurs frequently and tends to be more complicated in future.Universities often take the strategy of “ Gathering the strength and focusing on the present crisis” when the university crisis occurs,which works quickly and effectively while high costs and lack of initiative leading to a failure.Therefore,the problem of how to set up the awareness of the university crisis management and how to construct an effective system of university crisis management plan have become a new task for the education manager in China.This paper based on the public crisis management theory has analyzed and interpreted the key concepts and contents of the crisis management system in order to clear the scope and the feature,summarizing the university crisis stage and the crisis management theory.This paper sets D university as an example to discuss the present university crisis management plan system as well as analyze its problems and reasons by using questionnaire so as to put forward to reasonable countermeasures and suggestions.Therefore,this study has obvious significance in practice.This essay is divided into four parts.Firstly,it introduces the social and practical significance of the university crisis management plan and explains the present status of study.Secondly,this paper sets D university as an example to study the present situation of the university crisis management plan by using the questionnaire.Thirdly,the main problems and the reasons of university crisis management plan in D university are analyzed.In the last section,this essay gives countermeasures and suggestions to perfect the current university crisis management plan in D university.
