Geometry is one of the important content of elementary school mathematics,has an important role in the development of students.Through literature research found that student's geometric intuition and concept of space are lacks,and lack of development of spatial ability,it is necessary to strengthen the study of geometric knowledge.The Past geometry curriculum emphasizes calculation,too much emphasis on the logical reasoning,students are weariness of geometric.Along with the national foundation curriculum reform,< Math Curriculum Standards >(experiment draft)promulgated formally,geometry curriculum reform has become the focus of attention of the curriculum reform.From The curriculum implementation up to now,how does the effect ? How does the geometrical knowledge of students have and whether it could reach the requirements of the curriculum.Therefore,the author researched for the geometry knowledge and understanding of the sixth grade students in the graduating.Take < Math curriculum standards(experiment draft)> as the standard,by self-made < The test paper for the geometry knowledge and understanding of sixth grade students > as a research tool.By using the methods of testing and interview,text analysis,quantitative research,qualitative approach,191 sixth grade students in three Schools in Ganzhou area were investigated,then make the statistical analysis for data by using Excel and SPSS software,obtains the understanding of geometry knowledge of the sixth grade students in the present situation,conclusions are as follows:1.The level of the students' understanding of the geometric knowledge is not high,and it has not reached the requirements of the national curriculum standard2.In the four dimension,the knowledge of "graphics" is the best.Graphics and location knowledge is the weakest3.The weak knowledge of geometry knowledge and understanding of the students : spatial pattern of folding,unfolding and three views;area estimation and volume calculation of irregular objects;graphics translation,rotation and axial symmetry transform;draw the route;make position by the numbers4..In different schools(municipal,county,township),students have significant differences in the geometric understanding5.through the analysis of the test results,it is found that there is no significant gender difference in he understanding of the geometric knowledgeOn the basis of the study,the factors affecting grand six students' understanding of geometry knowledge were analyzed,and put forward the corresponding teaching strategies to improve the pupils' knowledge and understanding of geometry:1.Combined with the students' life experience and activities,make the teaching activities,to improve the understanding of the pupils' knowledge of geometry2.BY guiding students to observe,compare,make sense of the geometric characteristics of graphics,improve the understanding of the pupils' knowledge of geometry3.By hands-on operation,make students experience the process of "doing mathematics" in class teaching,improve the understanding of the pupils' knowledge of geometry4.Take the mathematical ideas and methods in the teaching of geometry to improve the understanding of the pupils' knowledge of geometry...
