| Cooperation,as an important learning quality and a necessary ability in children’s future development,is worthy of being studied.Mixed-age education can promote the development of young children,especially the social development.Based on a mixed-age kindergarten,this study will explore the present situation of children’s cooperative behavior in mixed-age education in Baoding city and make suggestions for teachers.This study took videos of 36 young children in their a utonomous activities,and each for ten minutes.Then the author sorted the cooperative behaviors in the videos,and did some statistical analyses,through which the present situation of children’s cooperative behavior in mixed-age education in Baoding city could be revealed.The study found: the 5-6 year-olds cooperate more than the 3-4 year-olds and the 4-5 year-olds,and girls are more cooperative;children of the same sex cooperate with each other with age;children of the same age are more likely to cooperate than the different age in mixed-age education;children prefer pro-social strategies as they grow older;the level of cooperation in mixed-age education is higher.Based on the results of the study,the author analyzed the reasons of the present situation,and proposed several practical suggestions to early childhood educators to promote the development of children’s cooperative behaviors in mixed-age education. |
