| Nowadays, the public gradually understand the value of mixed age education for the development of preschool children. Meanwhile, there are increasingly common for kindergartens to arrange mixed age activities throughout the life of the children’s day. According to the previous studies, exploration and design of mixed age activities has made a lot of achievements in the foreign countries. To improve the mixed age education, which is a special form of teaching, the main content of this paper focuses on the solution to the existing problems. To our best concern, there is hardly literature provides in-depth analysis of mixed age education from a theoretical point of view. To address this paper tries to make the following discussion on several directions of mixed age education:Firstly, in consideration of the Chinese cultural background and the personal teaching practice, the connotation and definition of mixed age education is made in this paper. The social ecological environment and the direction of current preschool education reform of mixed age education team are discussed and described in a combind way.Secondly, the implementation of mixed age education theory is elaborated from the thoery of psychology education, including Piaget’s cognitive development theory, Feldman non universal theory and Vygotsky’s "recent development zones" theory. Education theory mainly includes Bandura’s social learning theory, individual learning theory and ecological education theory.Furthermore, mixed age activities are designed once a week, and one time lasts half a day. Combined with the basic theory of education, the implementation measures and steps of mixed age education is given in various directions, and the encountered problems during the process of implementationis solved. For example:what kind of mixed age is the most suitable form for China’s preschool education environment? How to carry out peer interaction between the children in mixed age class? Comprarely, is it more difficult for the mixed age class teachers? How to carry out the daily teaching? How to solve the conflicts between the mixed age?Finally, this paper discusses how to carry on the content selection, goal setting and the specific forms of interaction in the view of children, teachers, and teaching. In the meantime, the exsting mixed age education are summarized, and the feasibility is described. It also puts forward the author’s opinion, some ideas for the future, and makes analysis of the possible problems. |
